unfortunatly, i think that the best solution is to copy this file from a safe computer, as I did for a friend who had this problem ...

Otherwise, this file is maybe available on xp Cd-ROM ? I hadn't check

Copy missing file from another XP PC, or download from Internet, and copy from floppy (you can't access GUI in this situation, but through Ctrl-Alt-Delete combination you can get to task manager and start cmd window), so make a copy:
copy a:\browseui.dll c:\windows\system32
file is ~ 1 MB, so fits into floppy. Actually you can use also USB stick, or copy from another PC through network (connecting from another PC to default share C$ as administrator, check that you can see hidden files), as all windows services still are working, only GUI can't be started.
I have seen such probs recently, seems it's a result of incorrect MS patch installation process.

I tried downloading the browseui.dll and did it on my computer. It worked, but the problem is, I can't use Internet Explorer. When you type in the search box in IE, it won't happen. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.
