The Problem:-
When you click Application or,System under the Event Viewer present within the Administrative Tools you get an error:- Event Log File is Corrupt.
Why does it happen?
If one or more of your log files is corrupt it happens.
Resolution:-
Method#1
1.Open the Event Viewer.
2.Rightclick on the corrupt log in the left pane and click Properties.
3.Click the Clear button in the Properties dialog box.
Method#2
1.Highlight the specific Event (Application or System).
2.Click the Action present in the Event Viewer menu and then click Clear all events.

Hi Im getting error that I cannot even view the Event viewer icon in administrative tools
Clearing the Event Viewer files will not fix them if they are corrupt. Do this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/172156
